vs

I need your help determining the art direction of this project people. Which do you prefer based on style alone, then imagine a whole book with it.

Pro Manga

• Pages take less time.
• Screen tones are texturally appealing.
• Focus more on story, less on art???
• I always thought this story would be a manga

Con Manga

• I got done 8 pages this year and normal manga has like 200 pages, wtf!
• The format is small, so the characters will always look….less good and be less consistent
• I don’t totally enjoy working with tones and stuff

Pro Gfx Novel

• Its got sweet colours and I’m better at colour then tone.
• The format is bigger, so I can focus on art more and really nail the character appearances.
• Books range from 60+ pages, so less the effort per book.

Con Gfx Novel

• Pages take slightly longer to finish.
• Perhaps my style is too clunky for bigger formats???
• I would have to redo pages 2-8 again.

So theres a few things to consider when looking at these two comparatively. I have a few more, but it unbalances the arguments. I’m just a bit biased towards one of them (not saying which). So please let me know which you prefer and for what reasons. Cheers

Also, the FE:RPG rules book is still in development. Its updated a little bit, but I still haven’t had a test game. That should happen soon. You’ll hear more about that as we go though.

Well, this is moving relatively slow compared to that of my other projects. That’s because I’m still figuring out format sizes and things for the pages for printing and I haven’t had decent time to spend on this with moving house and all. Page two is laid out, but I might redo a few of the panels because I think I would like to practice those characters facial expressions a bit more. I want to bring more then just a standard manga styled manga, I want more life and emotion in their faces and actions.

Well, once page 1 is laid out nicely I might chuck it up here so you guys can have a look. Not that it will say much, being one page. But what can you do. In the background of my mind I’m still fixing and editing later parts of the story. The first 3 chapters however are pretty solid and just need drawing up. I’ll get onto all that soon. I promise!
